Synopsis:
It is an ordinary Thursday and things should finally be returning to normal.
Except trouble is never far away where the Thursday Murder Club is concerned. A decade-old cold case leads them to a local news legend and a murder with no body and no answers.
Then a new foe pays Elizabeth a visit. Her mission? Kill…or be killed.
As the cold case turns white hot, Elizabeth wrestles with her conscience (and a gun), while Joyce, Ron and Ibrahim chase down clues with help from old friends and new. But can the gang solve the mystery and save Elizabeth before the murderer strikes again?

Review: Richard Osman is the only author whose writing has been engaging enough for Book Club to read three of his books. Once you’ve read the first in this series, you pretty much know what you’re getting: a well-plotted mystery, enjoyable characters and a well-written but easy to read book. The books are different enough that it doesn’t feel like a copy and paste exercise! The end twist in this one wasn’t obvious to most of the group, although a couple of clever clogs had figured it out. There are some fun easter eggs throughout this book relating to making of films/TV shows. There’s a lot of heart with the decline of Stephen but plenty of lighter moments to balance any sadness. The red herrings are well done and mostly well resolved by the end.
I’d recommend this series to fans of cosy, light-hearted mysteries.
